Pinball Rapid, lower end, looking upstream (320 cfs, 6-9-2011). Below
400 cfs, you usually have to portage the upper half - the steepest section of
the rapid - but may be able to run the lower half when flows are suitable (usually
200cfs and above). Scout river from river left along the RR grade trail.
To put in for the lower half of the rapid, portage through the RR cut on river left
beside the upper half of the rapid. Below the RR cut, look for a large evergreen
tree on river left with a small eddy beneath it just below the steepest section
of the rapid. Lower kayaks down the steep bank and scramble down to this eddy.
