| How bizarre. Perhaps it doesn't like sharply-rising flows, gets dizzy? Recovers when the flows drop again, poor abused thing.
[Seriously], I'll ask what the deal is, can't wait for the answer to this one.

| Got an answer already ... turns out that PG&E's gauges indeed stop reporting when the flow rises too sharply, and a given gauge stays out until the flow comes down to a "sane" level again. Guess this is to suppress data spikes and detect faulty gauges.
They can tune the parameters and have now desensitized the Cisco gauge ... hopefully it'll come back online soon, but if not we may have to ride this no-data episode out for the current high-flow cycle. Either way, after the gauge starts reporting again, this particular behavior should stop.
Thanks for reporting the weird behavior right away, Ambrose, means we're getting it fixed that much quicker.
