From the Auburn State Recreation Area: Beginning January 4th, 2022 China Bar will be open to vehicle access 7 days per week. Previously the area was open to vehicular access Friday through Monday year round. Birdsall Road and Oregon Bar Road will no longer be subject to wet weather closures and will be open year round.

PARC (Protect American River Canyons) led the effort to open more days for river recreation access.
