|Does anyone know approximately how many hours it takes the normal 1,100 cfs discharge to go from Meral's Pool to North Fork?
|Nope, so what follows is just my best guess. It's 15 miles from Meral's Pool to the North Fork confluence. Assuming an average flow rate of 3 mph, which seems a reasonable guess to me at these flows, it would take 5 hours (i.e. flows should start rising about 2pm). Assume a different flow rate and the travel time changes, naturally, for instance assume 4 mph and flows at the North Fork start to rise around 1pm.|
Note though that the minimum flows at Meral's are currently about 600 cfs, even outside the official release times, so I expect there's enough water for you to float down from the North Fork anytime.
