Hi River Folks,

A small change to the table below – I miscalculated the low total releases for the final couple days. Note that on those days, we will provide 1100 cfs during the recreational hours.

As the remaining snow melts off, we continue to expect decreased inflows into our reservoirs, which will result in releases from Hetchy and Eleanor to continue to taper as they are both kept near capacity. As inflows to Hetchy continue dropping below the current releases, spill at the Hetchy will decrease, and we will have a couple step reductions in spill at Kirkwood Powerhouse from the current ~750 cfs to ~200 cfs, then to no spill. In addition, we are expecting to reduce total daily generation at Holm Powerhouse, which will result in less water from the Cherry Creek side. Starting this week, and continuing through Labor Day, we will schedule 1100 cfs below the Cherry Creek / Tuolumne River confluence from 0800 through 1200 by supplementing existing flows with Holm Power Generation. We anticipate scheduling some generation at Holm starting Tuesday. As ever, this generation will depend on our operational capacity, and can be affected by Powerhouse Malfunctions and other issues.

Wednesday, June 29 is the first “No Water Wednesday” where we are scheduled to take Holm Powerhouse down for maintenance. Some generation at Holm is expected on this day, but we will not necessarily meet the 1100 cfs target during the recreational release hours. “No Water Wednesdays” are scheduled every 2 weeks starting June 29.

Enjoy the river this weekend!
