Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reports as follows:

Tuolumne River Folk,

This season we anticipate off and on releases from Hetch Hetchy, spill at Hetch Hetchy, spill at Kirkwood Powerhouse and spill at Eleanor. We will try to keep you updated on all four, with schedules for releases and estimates for spills, with the disclaimer that plans can change with changes in weather and powerhouse operations.

This week we are releasing additional water from Hetch Hetchy and spilling at Kirkwood Powerhouse.

*Note – Hetchy Release, Hetchy Spill and Spill at Kirkwood all affect flows on the Tuolumne River at Early Intake. Holm Draft, Eleanor and Cherry Releases and Eleanor Spill all affect flows on Cherry Creek below Holm Powerhouse. Also note that these are estimates of daily average flows.

We anticipate low releases (150-200 cfs) from Hetch Hetchy from 4/26 through 5/3. Plans for the rest of May are still in flux. We are tentatively planning a high pulse (~6000-7000 cfs) for the second or third week of May, dependent on weather patterns.

Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reports as follows:

Time for a change to the plan – after consultation with our partners in the National Park Service, we are extending the high releases for the next couple weeks. We expect flows around 1000 cfs from today (April 21) through when we run the high flow pulse (~6000cfs) sometime after May 3. The precise date of the high flow pulse has not been set, and is dependent on ecological concerns, weather, Reservoir levels and inflow timing.

This week we are releasing additional water from Hetch Hetchy and spilling at Kirkwood Powerhouse.

Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reports as follows:

"I wanted to provide a brief update on river conditions.  Yesterday evening our system experienced an alarm condition which caused units to be taken "offline".  This caused a significant reduction in releases below the HHWP project.  We have resolved most of the issues and flows at the confluence of Cherry Creek and the mainstem of the Tuolumne are near 1900 - 2000 cfs as of 0500 this morning.  We anticipate to have all the issues resolved later this morning and for the observed pattern to return.

We will be updating our release plan and forecasted project releases by the end of this week, including the timing of the peak release.  We will provide a more detailed update when we have that information finalized."
