David Greenwood, BLM River Ranger at Briceburg, reports as follows: "The hazard is between the HW 140 bridge and the Foresta Bridge (Redbud put-in).  There are up to 5 large trees in the river.  At least one of them is blocking approx 80% of the river channel.  All of these trees are in a continuous class IV reach. It is not recommended to put-in above Foresta Bridge (Redbud)!"

The highwater on Monday night actually dislodged the monster blocking 80% of the river. It has broken up and is downstream along with a couple of the others. Though they all look to be out of the way, hung up on shallower sections, I'd check it out for yourself before you put in.
