Bill Deitchman of California State Parks writes:

"Greeting Boaters,

It looks like there will be lots of water this spring and summer. The following is some information we would appreciate you passing on to your fellow boaters and boating clubs.

The Skunk Hollow lot at Folsom Lake SRA will be open to the public 7 days a week beginning April 1st 2011. The hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park - North Beach River Access is currently open 7 days a week. Its hours are currently 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Beginning Memorial Day weekend and continuing through Labor Day weekend, the hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Day use fees are: Skunk Hollow (Salmon Falls Area): $10/vehicle

Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park: $8.00/vehicle ($7.00/vehicle for seniors).

If you boat a fair amount on the South Fork American and/or like to visit State Parks, you may want to consider obtaining a State Park "Poppy" Pass. They are only $90/season and are good at 97 State Park Units, including Marshall Gold and Folsom Lake (Salmon Falls). They are available for a 12 month period from when first purchased. They may be purchased at most State Park unit headquarter offices including Auburn SRA and Marshall Gold SHP. The link for more information about the passes is:
