The B120 report for February predicts that the "Unimpaired Runoff" above Folsom Reservoir will be 2.695 MAF (million acre-feet).  This translates to an Above Normal water year type for the rest of February through early March.

What this means is that we will get Saturday and Sunday releases, from 9AM until noon, until the end of February.  Then, from March 1 through March 10, there will be scheduled releases every day.

The Above Normal designation will persist at least until the next B120 bulletin comes out, around March 8, taking effect March 11.  However, it's highly unlikely that the Above Normal designation will persist past March 10, so be sure to check back at that time for an update.

The scheduled release page gives more details.

The B120 report for March came out today, and it predicts that the "Unimpaired Runoff" above Folsom Reservoir will be 1.940 MAF (million acre-feet).  This translates to a Below Normal water year type for the rest of March through early April.

What this means is that we will get releases every day except Wednesday until April 10.  From April 11 onward it's less certain, but at a minimum there will be scheduled releases every Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The Below Normal designation will persist at least until the next B120 bulletin comes out, around April 8, taking effect April 11.  Be sure to check back at that time for an update.

The B120 report for April came out today, and it predicts that the "Unimpaired Runoff" above Folsom Reservoir will be 1.590 MAF (million acre-feet).  This translates to a Super Dry water year type for the rest of April through early May.

What this means is that we will get releases only on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays through May 11.

The Super Dry designation will persist at least until the next B120 bulletin comes out, around May 9, taking effect May 12.  Be sure to check back at that time for an update.

The scheduled release page gives more details.

The B120 report for May came out today, and it predicts that the "Unimpaired Runoff" above Folsom Reservoir will be 1.811 MAF (million acre-feet).  This translates to a Below Normal water year type until the end of October for sure, and likely until around Feb 10, 2022.

What this means is that we will get scheduled releases every day except Wednesday through Labor Day.

The Below Normal designation will persist at least until the end of October.  Check back then for an update.

The scheduled release page gives more details.

The computed Full Natural Flow into Folsom Lake (1.784 MAF as of today) is already enough to guarantee a Below Normal water year type for this year (2022).

This is huge, because it resets the clock on how and when Dry water years are treated as Super Dry water years.  When that happens it can have a disproportionate negative impact on scheduled releases.
