Below are planned releases from HHWP facilities through May 27. An additional update will be provided next week.

We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River.

Intraday powerhouse cycling is expected to continue, following similar patterns. Spill from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir is expected to steadily increase over the next several days.

 

Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.

 

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

• Flows immediately below Hetch Hetchy are 250 cfs
• Wednesday, May 20 – Friday, May 22 : valve release 200 cfs
• Saturday, May 23 – Wednesday, May 27: valve release 200 cfs
• Spillway flow fluctuating from 100 – 800 cfs

 

• Kirkwood Powerhouse

• 00:00 – 09:00: spill 600 cfs
• 10:00 – 16:00: spill 0 cfs
• 17:00 – 00:00: spill 600 cfs

 

Cherry Reservoir

• Flows immediately below Cherry are approximately 6 cfs
• Wednesday, May 20 – Wednesday, May 27: 6 cfs  

• Holm Powerhouse
• 45 – 900+ cfs

 

Lake Eleanor

• Flows immediately below Eleanor are approximately 40 cfs
• Wednesday, May 20 – Wednesday, May 27: 30 – 50 cfs

• 600 – 2,000 cfs
• 00:00 – 12:00: 2,000 cfs
• 12:00 – 17:00: 600 cfs

Thursday, May 21 – Friday, May 22:

• 600 – 2,000 cfs
• 00:00 – 06:00: 800 cfs – 1,200 cfs
• 06:00 – 12:00: 2,000 cfs
• 12:00 – 17:00: 600 cfs
• 18:00 – 00:00: 2,000 cfs

 

Saturday, May 23 – Wednesday, May 27:

• 3,000 – 5,000 cfs
• 00:00 – 12:00: 2,000 – 2,500 cfs * dependent on spill from Hetch Hetchy
• 12:00 – 19:00: 700 – 1,200 cfs *
• 19:00 – 00:00: 2,000 – 2,500 cfs *
