Below are planned releases from HHWP facilities through May 15. An additional update will be provided next week. Expect elevated flows over the next 10 days.

 

An Upper Tuolumne River Ecosystem Program (UTREP) release is underway, flows will peak Friday. See details below. Following the peak release flows may remain elevated through next week.

We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River.

Intraday powerhouse cycling is expected to continue, following similar patterns. A strong warming trend will result in steadily increasing natural runoff over the next 10 days. Spill from Lake Eleanor and inflows below HHWP reservoirs are expected to steadily increase during this period.

 

Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.

 

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

• Flows immediately below Hetch Hetchy are increasing to 2,200 cfs today
• Friday, May 8:
• 00:00 – 06:00 : 2,200 cfs
• 06:00 – 11:00 : 3,500 cfs
• 11:00 – 18:00 : 6,500 cfs
• 18:00 – 24:00 : 4,000 – 3,500 cfs
• Saturday, May 9 – Friday, May 15 : 4,000 cfs to 2,000 cfs

 

• Kirkwood Powerhouse

• 00:00 – 09:00: spill 600 cfs
• 09:00 – 17:00: spill 0 cfs
• 17:00 – 00:00: spill 600 cfs

 

Cherry Reservoir

• Total flows immediately below Cherry are approximately 50 cfs
• Thursday, May 7 – Friday, May 15: Valve releases increasing to 100 – 1,000 cfs  

• Holm Powerhouse
• 45 – 900+ cfs

 

Lake Eleanor

• Valve releases below Eleanor are at approximately 300 cfs
• Spill is approximately 150 cfs
• Spill will fluctuate with natural inflows

• 21:00 – 00:00: 9,500 cfs decreasing to 7,000 cfs
