Below are planned releases from HHWP facilities through April 15. An additional update will be provided next week.

We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River.

Intraday powerhouse cycling is expected to continue, following similar patterns. A winter storm will bring widespread precipitation and accumulating snow above 5,000 feet Thursday through Sunday. Spill from Lake Eleanor and inflows below HHWP reservoirs are expected to increase dramatically Saturday and Sunday and remain elevated through Monday.

 

Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.

 

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

• Flows immediately below Hetch Hetchy are approximately 200 cfs
• Kirkwood Powerhouse

• 00:00 – 09:00: spill 600 cfs
• 09:00 – 17:00: spill 0 cfs
• 17:00 – 00:00: spill 600 cfs

 

Cherry Reservoir

• Total flows immediately below Cherry are approximately 8 cfs

• Holm Powerhouse
• 45 – 900+ cfs

 

Lake Eleanor

• Valve releases below Eleanor are at approximately 100 cfs
• Spill is approximately 50 cfs
• Spill is forecast to increase to 600-800 cfs Saturday evening

Thursday April 9 – Friday April 10

• 1,000 – 2,500 cfs
• 00:00 – 11:00: 2,500 cfs
• 11:00 – 19:00: 800 cfs
• 19:00 – 00:00: 2,500 cfs

 

Saturday April 11

• 1,000 – 3,500 cfs

 

Sunday April 12

• 3,000 – 5,000+ cfs

 

Monday April 13

• 1,500 – 3,000 cfs

 

Tuesday April 14 – Wednesday April 15

• 1,000 – 3,000 cfs
