Below are planned releases from HHWP facilities through May 30.

We strive to keep the user community updated on projected flows on the Tuolumne River.

 

Flows below HHWP reservoirs will increase modestly over the Memorial Day weekend, with additional increases expected next week as reservoirs approach full storage. Note that forecasts and releases in the near-term are relatively uncertain. If significant changes arise, this message will be updated prior to the end of the stated time window.

 

Intraday powerhouse cycling is expected to continue. See details below.

 

Stated flow rates are best estimates and are subject to change as conditions and operational constraints evolve.

 

Hetch Hetchy Reservoir

• Planned valve releases from Hetch Hetchy:
• Approx. 1,350 cfs on 05/23
• Increasing to approx. 1,500 cfs 05/24
• Valve releases expected to remain at or near 1,500 cfs throughout Memorial Day weekend
• Valve releases will be variable between 1,500-2,500+ cfs on 05/27 for regular maintenance activities
• Valves will potentially be increased toward 1,800-2,000 cfs 05/28-05/30
• Reservoir is expected to fill and spill toward the end of May into early June during which time releases will vary dramatically
• Kirkwood Powerhouse spill will be variable:

• Weekdays
• 00:00-11:00
• 300-650 cfs
• 11:00-16:00
• 0-50 cfs
• 16:00-24:00
• 300-650 cfs
• Weekends
• 00:00-10:00
• 300-650 cfs
• 10:00-17:00
• 0 cfs
• 17:00-24:00
• 300-650 cfs

 

Cherry Reservoir

• Valve releases are at approx. 10 cfs
• Valve releases are expected to remain stable near this rate for the weekend
• Valve increases to a 50-300 cfs range possible next week 05/27-05/30
• Holm Powerhouse flows will be variable:
• Weekdays
• 00:00-10:00
• 950 cfs
• 10:00-16:00
• 330 cfs
• 16:00-24:00
• 950 cfs
• Weekends
• 00:00-10:00
• 950 cfs
• 10:00-11:00
• 350 cfs
• 11:00-16:00
• 75 cfs
• 16:00-24:00

Lake Eleanor

• Valve releases below Eleanor are approximately 90 cfs
• Reservoir spill is expected to increase toward 150-200 cfs this weekend
• Eleanor total release is expected to remain in a range between 200-400 cfs for the next week
