I was told by a friend that there is a wood hazard at the very bottom of Island rapid on the left channel (this is the first major rapid below Mill Creek Falls, about .25 miles into the run). I saw the wood (a tree fallen off the left wall diagonally into the bottom of the last ledge drop) at very low flows and it wasn't a real problem (we ran it), but at 2400 on the gauge I guess it is a real hazard and these guys ferried above the drop onto the island and walked down or ran the other channel. Scout the drop from the last large eddy on the left above the drop.

We ran this at 2700 Sunday, and the wood really wasn't that bad. Take the left channel and eddy out on the right to see the wood. Then proceed down a safe right line - no problems for our group. Everything else on the run was clean.
