I'll second that. Ran Devils at ~1500 on the gauge on Mar22/23 2008, and it had the feel of more like 1800 was the group consensus, water was brown. My previous trips are 900,1000,1200,2500....it was definitely lower than the 2500 trip but still spicy.

David Maurier had the following to say about a trip that launched the day after us on a 3day:
Quote:

I rallied some kids from Colorado and we got on the Devil's Canyon of the MF Feather on Sunday, and boated it through to Tuesday. The flow was supposedly around 1500 at Milsap, but it felt more like 1800. Lots of mad bombing... I think we had to get out to scout two or three times. It was cold enough (and damp enough) that our bags got frozen stiff overnight. So the sleeping was weak and the paddling was awesome.

Earlier in March, Macy and TaylorR ran Bald Rock at an indicated 900 and had to walk the big stuff including Curtain.

Beware going into Bald Rock at higher end flows currently. I'd be interested in other trips opinions, I'd like to update the AW description for flow ranges to match the current gauge calibration.

Seems they recalculated the flow at MER, now it's 200cfs off.

Flow is higher than thought, agreement among paddlers is 500cfs higher flow.

Looked at the Middle Fork today and it seems 300cfs off, need people to call and have the Water Dept check the flow at the bridge where the gage is.

Does anyone know whether the flow inaccuracies for the Middle Feather at Milsap Bar still exist?

I know that there was discussion about this issue during the past several years, but I haven't read or heard any updates for this year.

Thanks.
