Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reports as follows:

In addition to the Cherry Lake commissioning this week, increased inflows due to warm weather will result in increased releases from Hetch Hetchy, generation at Holm Powerhouse and spill at Lake Eleanor.

The table below shows our planned releases, and estimates of flows at different parts of the day. Changing inflow conditions will result in changes in release pattern. We will attempt to let you know if there are significant changes. Below see detailed explanation of various flows.

*Cherry valve releases will result in temporary large increases in flows.

Hetchy Releases: We are ramping up to ~4000 cfs tonight to accommodate high inflows. We will maintain 4000 cfs until Wednesday, when we will ramp down to 200 cfs for Early Intake inspections. Friday we will ramp back up to 2000 to 4000 cfs, depending on the inflow pattern. We will then maintain high releases for a week or two.

KPH generation: Spill at KPH will continue at 600 cfs through runoff, except from 6AM Thursday through 6PM Friday

Eleanor is forecasted to fill and spill this week, with peak spill around 1000 cfs. Higher or lower inflows will result in more or less spill

Cherry Releases: Valve commissioning will require opening and closing the new valves, resulting in short term flows up to 2500 cfs. These pulses will be generally less than 2 hours. Releases will be less than 10 cfs overnight.

HPH generation: We are moving to full HPH generation midday on Wednesday – 950 cfs. This will continue throughout May

Any significant changes to the schedule will be posted on the bulletin board.
