Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reports as follows:

Update on flows for May 24 to 31:

1)      The planned high releases of 6500 cfs from Hetch Hetchy are scheduled to continue through May 30. On May 30 we are scheduled to reduce valve releases to 4800 cfs.

2)      Eleanor continues to spill – inflows remain fairly high, and spill has remained steady at 200 cfs (for a total release of 950 cfs including the valves). Spill will follow inflows while the lake is full – for the next week, I expect that inflows will maintain some spill at Eleanor.

a.       Note that the Eleanor stream gauge rating curve appears to be off (reporting 940 cfs while we expect flows around 1200 cfs). USGS is visiting the site this week.

3)      Cherry releases remain at 1000 cfs for reservoir control.

a.       Some testing of valves is scheduled for Friday, May 26. Cherry valve releases will increase to 2500 cfs for 1-2 hours, starting around 11AM, then return to 1000 cfs
