Hetch Hetchy Water and Power reports as follows:

Update on flows for May 15 to 23:

1)      The planned high releases of 6700 cfs are scheduled to begin today, May 15 from Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. We expect to maintain 6700 cfs for 2 weeks, with a decrease to 4100 cfs after May 30, with exact date depending on reservoir levels.

a.       We are performing some valve testing today – flows may rise as high as 8000 cfs today – they will return to 6700 by 3PM.

2)      Eleanor continues to spill – inflows remain fairly high, and spill has remained steady at 200 cfs (for a total release of 950 cfs including the valves). Spill will follow inflows while the lake is full – for the next week, I expect that inflows will maintain some spill at Eleanor.

a.       Note that the Eleanor stream gauge rating curve appears to be off (reporting 550 cfs while we expect flows around 950 cfs). USGS is visiting the site this week.

3)      Cherry releases were increased last week to 1000 cfs for reservoir control.
